We are a storage facility and were a customer of Dex Media for much too long. When my sister and I took over management of the company, we became suspicious of the very high monthly Dex bill and could not understand why it was so much.

I did a great deal of research into what Dex Media was doing for us, and it turns out, they were quantifiably doing nothing! Honestly, Dex claims to be a Google partner, but they do not advertise on Google, their main search engine is superpages.com, a site I had never heard of nor searched on. Turns out we were getting almost zero calls from our SEM campaign and the ones we were getting were from telemarketers. Upon grieving our contract with Dex, and a knock down drag out, we received a formal cancellation back dated 9/16/16 stating our SEM campaign was cancelled and we owed nothing further.

We have since continued to receive invoices for no services and been sent to collections 3 times. DexYP/Dex Media is a total fraud and they do not deliver on any of their promises, hence the reason we grieved our exorbitant contract with them. It was literally like flushing $1600 down the toilet every month.

They strong arm and lie. Stay away from this despicable company!

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Monetary Loss: $25000.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

DexYP Cons: Entire experience.

We have NEVER been customers of DEX YP yet we have received a "Past Due" bill from this company. It was mailed to a rental property owned by my mother but the bill is in my fathers name who in not an owner of that property and references a personal telephone number that has NEVER had advertising attached to it. SCAM.

I came upon this after contemplating the $108 I was flushing on Dex. They have my business listed among other like businesses in my county that have been out of business for as long as ten years.

I've asked to have those old businesses removed, but they just stay listed above mine.

How can a consumer trust a company that won't clean up its directory? I'm out.

Same issue here... We never received a renewal letter from DexYP so I finally thought it had surely been enough time passed to cancel.

When I called they assured me I had received a renewal letter and I was stuck in my contract for another 14 months. I asked them to email me this letter that I didn't remember seeing. The rep there then verified that the letter never was sent. So I called and said I never rec'd the renewal letter and I wanted out of this contract.

How can they legally bind me to a contract without notice?? I was told the best they could do is half my bill for the remainder of the contract. WHAT?? The rep told me it was half my fault I didn't get it cancelled regardless of the fact I never got a renewal notice which they VERIFIED I didn't get.

What a joke.

I contacted our attorney general. Paying HALF is not the right solution here!!!!!

i have the same problem with them. i emailed them to cancel i got an email back from them saying they would be contacting me but i never received a phone call from them.

after 3 months of no bill i assumed it was cancelled but just received a bill today. i contacted them and they were zero help.

never again with this company. i think i may need to sue them

I have had the same experience but I do not know how to get out of my contract. Ever since Dex took over my business has plummeted.

They will not let me out of my contract. I would like to know how to get out of my contract. You can call me at 678 353 ****.

Hi Chris,So sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time. You have got to be relentless.

If you believe they have breached their contract with you, report them to the BBB in their company homebase, Texas. Do not keep paying them.

Fight and don't let them get the best of you. I will try to reach out to you at the beginning of the week.

We are having the exact same problem as you. We have been fighting them all year.

I have a new doctor in the office starting her practice. I told her to STAY AWAY from DexYP because they are scammers and frauds. We told them last year that I am retiring. We filled out their form and sent it.

Apparently it was immediately ignored. Furthermore it says the advertiser is responsible to know when the deadline is but have no way for the advertiser to find out the date.

They say the automatic renewals (of which I have no record of being sent) are to be cancelled in writing but then don't tell you where the written cancellation is to be sent. Dex YP is the absolute worse.
